Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to make payments on the basis of completion of works concerning to Polavaram project. Reviewing the progress of Polavaram project works from his Undavalli residence on Monday, he warned the officials and contractors of severe action for inordinate delay in completing the project works.
No one will be spared from severe action, if they show lethargy in performing their duties. It is a rare opportunity for the engineers to exhibit their talent and efficiency taking it as a challenge to complete the Polavaram project works,”
He will dedicate Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation Scheme to the state at Purushottapatnam village on August 15 on Tuesday. Later, he releases river Godavari water into Left Main Canal of Polavaram project at Nagampalli village which is 10 KMS away from PPLIS.
The lift scheme was aimed to supply Godavari water to East Godavari district and Visakhapatnam districts to cater the drinking water needs and for cultivation as well as industries. The government took up the project with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,632 to complete it in two phases. The government is releasing water into Left Main Canal as part of first phase.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu reaches Rajamahendravaram airport at 1 PM from Tirupati and leaves to PPLIS by a chopper to Nagampalli village. Later he addresses a public meeting at Jaggampeta and leaves to Hyderabad by aircraft from Rajamahendravaram at 4 PM.
